Arcus Track

Otaki Forks

page 4

We're back on the main track

It's large smooth stone gravel - not my favourite for walking over as it places continuous stress on ankles.

There's a small wild flower by the track - one I do not recognise and don't recall seeing before.

Out in the open again.

The sky is marvellous - just the faintest dusting of cloud.

And now it's serious downhill to the bridge

We pass the original turnoff so we have technically completed the loop.

As we cross the bridge I experiment with some shadow pix.

Alice was initially a little perplexed walking over these bridges but now she just goes on ahead and waits for my careful crossing to be complete.

There's a flower here I don't recognise at first, a creeper. I wonder if it's a cousin of the Parsonsia that is common throughout Woodhill forest.

Back to the van, and a long drive up to Napier ahead. We'll be back.
